Ian Connor, Manager

Kelly Simmons , Assistant Manager

Ian attended The Ohio State University where he double majored in Exercise Science and Psychology. He was a member of their Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor Track teams, and was named an All-American several times. Since graduating from college, Ian has enjoyed an exciting career as a professional athlete and private coach. He has qualified for the Olympic trials and has had the honor of representing our great country on several world teams. However, he admits now that his competitive nature is torn as he tries to figure out if he can beat this Alisa Harvey lady. As the Director of our adult running club, he would love see you out on a run. Ian resides in Nokesville with is wife, Asia, and their Basset Hound, Winnifred.

Kelly began running in 7th grade after finishing the mile during the 'Physical Fitness' tests in gym class. Coach Dulin encouraged her to give running a try, so she did and fell in love with the sport! She ran competitively at Brentsville District High School all four years, was Team Captain her sophomore year, and received several All-State Honors in Cross Country and both Indoor and Outdoor Track. In addition to working at TRS she is also pursuing her college degree on a full-time basis. She resides in Gainesville with her husband Christopher and her dog Daisy.

Alisa Harvey is a Northern Virginia native.  Since her high school days at Thomas Jefferson she has dedicated her life to athletics.  She attended the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) for college where she was the 1986 NCAA Champion in the 1500M, and also received her BA in Speech Communications in 1988.  In 2006, she was inducted into the Lady Volunteer Hall of Fame.

Alisa was the 800 meter and 1500 meter champion at the 2007 U.S. Masters Outdoor T&F Championships, where she was also named USA Track & Field 2007 Masters Athlete of the Year.  She is the World Record Holder of the indoor Masters mile (4:47.26) and holds the following U.S. Masters records: 2:07.57 for 800 meters, 4:46.29 for the mile outdoors, 2:05.75 for 800 meters, and 4:26.18 for 1500 meters indoors. In addition to the track, Alisa enjoys racing on the roads in any distance from 5K to Marathon.  She is a four-time winner of the Army Ten-Miler and posted a person best of 2:49.26 at the 1999 Richmond Marathon. Alisa is married to Les McFarling and the mother of two daughters, Virginia (13) and Kyah (6).  In addition to working part-time at The Running Store, she also writes "On The Track" articles for The Washington Running Report and is a competitive Elite Masters runner. You can learn more about Alisa by visiting her website at http://www.alisaharvey.com

Asia moved to the area at the beginning of the new year from Boone, North Carolina.  She originally grew up in the open farmlands of Ohio, where she started running at the age of 12.  Her love for running helped her to earn a scholarship to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She competed in Cross-Country as well as the 5k & 10k events on the track. She is now finishing Nursing School and tries to stay fit running with her husband, Ian, and their Basset Hound.  She would like to note that their Basset Hound can run 30 minutes at a 7 min/mile pace.

Pam runs just enough to balance out her love for junk food.  She is an avid hiker and cyclist, and has recently taken up spin to enhance her workouts.   Pam has two daughters - Becky, who runs competitively, and Emily, who plays volleyball and lacrosse.  Her husband, Dave, has been addicted to running for the last 25 years.   Pam's focus is on running apparel and is thrilled to see TRS carrying the best selection of comfortable running clothes in the area.

Liz fell in love with the sport of cross country after watching her oldest son Matthew's first race.  Eight years later and with two more sons, Ben and Eric, participating in the sport, she is still a great fan.  She and her husband, Mike, have volunteered at and sponsored many racing events at Brentsville High School. She was team mom for six years  (perhaps a record).  After working for Prince William County Schools for ten years, she decided to do something that involves her love of running, walking, and just living a healthy and active lifestyle.

Sherri has been active in sports for most of her life but only started running in 2005. She was inspired to do so by her Mom, who is a cancer survivor, and ran her first half-marathon to benefit Team In Training. She has completed many 5K's, 10K's, two half-marathons, the Twin Cities Marathon, and began racing in triathlons last year. To date, her favorite race has been The Nation's Triathlon (Olympic distance) in Washington, DC. The 1-mile swim took place in the Potomac River and it was the first time in history that people have been allowed to swim in it. A Congressional Act even had to be passed before it could happen!

Sherri is a self-admitted tortoise when it comes to speed, but she finds her joy in crossing the finish line no matter how long it takes. She's resides in Gainesville with her husband and son.
