Are you training for your first 10k, 10 miler, half or full marathon? Are you looking to set a personal best or to qualify for Boston? If so, this is the perfect training program for you! Completing an endurance event is a very challenging and rewarding experience. Training under the guidance and support of an experienced coach who does the thinking for you will ensure that you reach and/or exceed your goal!
Distance Training participants receive the following:
- An initial phone consultation to discuss your current fitness level, prior running history and fitness goals.
- Detailed training schedule specific to your ability level and goals.
- Twice weekly group coached workouts. Workouts may include interval, tempo, easy aerobic or hill training.
- Educational materials on various running related topics such as nutrition, hydration, injury prevention, core strength and much more!

Upcoming Distance Training Program Session Location and Fees
The Distance Training Program meets at 6:30 PM on Monday evenings in Bristow; and Saturday mornings at 7:30 AM at various courses in Gainesville, Bristow, Haymarket, Manassas, the W&OD trail, C&O Canal Trail and Burke Lake.
We divide the training programs into three sessions a year. Our 2018 Distance Training Program sessions are listed below. Registration is on-going and you may join in the middle of a training session at a pro-rated rate.
Spring: April 30th – July 7th (shorter 10 week mini session – $191.25 TRS VIP Members, $225 non-VIP Members)
Summer/fall: July 16th – November 5th ($295.00 TRS VIP Members, $345 non-VIP Members).
